Story of Valina Khiarin Nisa

If I can look back, my 2019 was colorful. There was happiness; there were wounds. There was an accomplishment; there were failures. There were answers; there were also new questions had raised.

It would be too short if it had to be compiled into one yearly reflection. For me, one of the most interesting lessons that I learned in 2019 was, “we have to be grateful for any situation that we faced, no room to choose.”

There are some ways to reflect on our experience. We might do it alone by taking a break, but it could also happen when we are exchanging thoughts and have a discussion with our loved/trusted people. Yes, being open and accepting the fact that we need others in life is also one point of my self-reflections.

One thing that I have understood, the key to reflecting is acceptance. Accept that there are things that happen based on the plan, even better than what has already planned. Accept that there are things that might arise out of our expectation. Accept that within twelve months, our life is filled with both smooth and rocky roads. Accept that God is creating the best scenario for the universe, including us.

Maybe there are some unanswered questions left; it is okay. Just keep it until we get the answer in the next journey, or perhaps we might find the clues when we track the memory lane within the past year.
